Happy December 2024: Reflecting on a Year of Milestones and Gratitude

Another year is nearly complete, and as always, I find myself wondering, Where the heck did the time go? Seriously! I still feel like I’m back in March, putting the final touches on the cover design for Conjoined. When in reality, it’s December, and I’m putting the finishing touches on brand new stories for you to enjoy in the coming year!

A Heartfelt Thank You to My Readers

Speaking of Conjoined, I want to extend my heartfelt thanks to everyone who purchased, read, reviewed, and shared my debut psychological thriller novel. As a self-published author, I knew marketing would involve long hours and navigating a steep learning curve with social media and book-related sites, but wow—what a journey! Your support made every step of the process worthwhile.

New Stories on the Horizon

Amid all the milestones with Conjoined, I somehow managed to write another book! I still can’t quite believe it myself.

No Reservations is a story that’s been sitting in my creative vault since 2015. It all started as a dream (yes, an actual dream!) and evolved into a concept during a creative writing class. This past summer, I revisited the idea, and what unfolded was nothing short of magical.

The characters practically jumped off the page, demanding their stories be told. They even took over my dreams and made me question who the real antagonist should be! This writing experience was entirely different from Conjoined—wild, immersive, and exhilarating.

A Peek Into No Reservations

By the end of September, I had completed the rough draft, and by November, I had assembled a beta reading team. These talented readers are helping me refine the story of Rose Sullivan and her family.

Did you know that Rose, the main character, has three sisters? Sydney, Ivy, and Billie round out the Sullivan family of six, which also includes their parents, Henry and Helen. Set in the fictitious town of Millstone Falls, NY—a place loosely inspired by the historic village of Hudson Falls—the story is told in a deep third-person point of view.

This means readers will experience Rose’s world through visceral descriptions like:
“The muscles in her shoulders bunched as the sound of the trash truck came crashing through her neighborhood on a Thursday morning at six a.m.”

Millstone Falls itself feels like a character, with layers of history and intrigue. I can’t wait to hear what you think of this new world and its lovably flawed characters. And guess what? The potential for a series is real!

Living the Dream: Highlights from 2024

This year has been a dream come true. From seeing Conjoined bound in paperback and for sale on sites like Barnes & Noble and Amazon to hosting book signings and answering readers’ questions at a book club—it’s been a whirlwind of gratitude and joy.

I can’t help but dream even bigger: imagine Conjoined as a Netflix series! The possibilities for that world are endless, and I’d love to see it unfold on screen. Universe, are you listening?

Cheers to 2025: New Adventures Await

As we close out 2024, I want to thank you for being part of this journey. Your support fuels my creativity and makes all the hard work worthwhile. Here’s to a healthy, happy, and prosperous 2025!

Stay tuned for more updates in January, and until then, happy holidays!
