Because I am an emerging author, there is much that is unknown about me.  Like, what’s my favorite vegetable (Popped Corn) or my favorite big hair band from the 80’s (Whitesnake).  With the help of one of my most devoted fans (think Annie Wilkes), we’ve come up with a few questions, interview style, we thought you’d all be dying to know about KT (think Paul(a) Sheldon).

Annie:

Your online profiles claim you are a Chicagoan.  But in one of your posts (9 Podcasts) you mentioned you lived in NY and the West Coast.  So, where are you from originally?

KT:

I was actually born in Quebec, but moved across the border into NY when I was a toddler.  So, I speak Canadian French, but not well.  When I went to France years later, they laughed at me and said they’d prefer to hear American English over what I was speaking.  So you know it was bad.

Annie:

How’d you wind up out West?

KT:

Gold.  All that glitters is gold, according to Led Zeppelin. Everyone knows California glitters.  QED.

Annie:

Then what brought you back to the Midwest?

KT:

Witness Protection.

Annie:

Oh my!  That sounds scary.

KT:

Not as scary as the Wind and Polar Vortexes.  And Lake Michigan.  Have you seen the size of that thing?  It’s like the ocean without the salty smell and giant waves.  Oh!  And Boxelder bugs.  They are the creepiest beetles that seem to show up in the Fall around here.  They plaster themselves like a pestilence all over your house, especially the front door for whatever reason.  Ewww. *shivers uncontrollably*

Annie:

Well, since you brought up witness protection, have you ever been in trouble with the police?

KT:

I limit my trouble to a small group of friends who are complicit in some way.  Police tend to make things so black and white.  Isn’t it funny how their cars are usually black and white too?

Annie:

What were you like as a child?

KT:

Small, chubby, prone to head trauma due to that trouble thing you mentioned before.

Annie:

Have you ever failed at something?  How did it affect you?

KT:

I fail every day at something, whether it’s not reaching my word count, missing a meeting I forgot to put on my calendar, making sure the kids are dressed appropriately before heading out to school…Honestly, the list is endless.  Each failure teaches me a lesson.  Some lessons need repeating, others don’t.  But the point is to keep at it.  Something is bound to stick.  I’m a firm believer that you can’t learn and grow without some good, hearty failure to feed your soul.

Annie:

What are some of your favorites?  Like: Ice cream flavor, scent, season?

KT:

I have lots of favorites.  Currently, you are my favorite fan because you want to talk about my favorite thing, ME. I like anything with Maple flavor, but I’m lactose intolerant.  Fall is my favorite season because everything I’m allergic to dies. And my favorite colors like red, brown, and orange, bloom.  My favorite scent is Desperation.  It’s intoxicating and inspiring.

Annie:

Speaking of inspiring, what inspires you?

KT:

The disappointment of the human spirit.  I don’t have to go far these days to hear some story of depravity, struggle, conflict, and yes even mystery.  It’s a matter of just fitting pieces together to weave it into a fictional story.

Annie:

Do you drink, smoke, or have any other vices?

KT:

Sure.  I drink water, in the form of tears of unicorns; I smoke meats on my grill; As far as vice’s…I’ve never really been fond of holding any office or position, so no vice anythings.

Annie:

If you had a superpower, what would it be?

KT:

Mimicry.  That would be the best because then I wouldn’t have to choose. I could just borrow everyone else’s powers for a while.

Annie:

Do you have a spirit animal?

KT:

I’m not sure, but I always thought if there is such thing as reincarnation, I’d like to come back as an Owl.  They are the coolest birds.

Annie:

If you had to give up one thing to be a better writer, what would it be?

KT:

I’d give up writing. It would be a sign to me that what I’m doing isn’t my life’s purpose and I’d start searching for something that was.

These questions went on for hours, but to keep some of the mystery alive for you to wonder about, we cut it here.  And of course to keep it PG.

If there is one question that wasn’t answered and you are just dying to know, leave a comment in the section below.  I’ll do my best to answer it honestly, and without curse words.

Thanks for stopping by today.
