Hello March! The weather in Illinois came in like a lamb, while the world lost its mind! As with everything you are receiving in email form these days, I can’t help but mention the novel Coronavirus and how it is impacting everyday life. Just remember, wash your hands, use common sense, and only worry about the things that are in your control! And on that note, what is definitely in your control is reading my new short story this month. I’ve switched it up a little, and I’m sending you one that has been published on another site! Reedsy.

Reedsy.com

Reedsy is an indie self-publishing company that also provides a shit-ton of writing tools for people like me. Every week they share a set of writing prompts on their blog that writers can submit for review and also win a chance at $50! This month’s story was published on their site, and I’m sharing it with you through their link!

The Prompt

The writing prompt was simple enough: Write a short story about a person going to the corner store to buy an everyday item. I didn’t know how it was going to turn out as I wrote it, it just flowed through my fingers as I imagined the Bodega’s of NYC back in my youth. I’m sure you’ve all seen them, whether in person or in sitcoms or movies.

Review and Win!

Even though I’ve posted this story through Reedsy, everything remains the same as before. Leave a review there, and you’ll still get a chance to win a $5 Amazon Gift Card to your best email address. And feel free to share their link too!
